The Sword of the Spirit
The Sword of the Spirit
"Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned."
1 Corinthians 2:12-14 ESV
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Proverbs 1:7 KJV
"For ages and ages this message was kept secret from everyone, but now it has been explained to God's people."
Col 1:26 CEV
"For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."
Romans 10:2-4 ESV
"For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him."
Psa 103:11-13 WEB
All knowledge is from God. To have knowledge of God, you must have the Spirit of God. Without the Spirit, it is impossible to understand the Word of God. The carnal mind is incapable of deciphering a spiritual Bible.
Righteousness comes by faith, not action. No person on earth is righteous because of their actions. Once you put your faith in Christ, you receive God's righteousness as a gift. It has nothing to with you.
God's forgiveness is not like human forgiveness. Once God forgives, it is truly washed away. There is no trace of it. Forgiveness is also a gift. There is no way to earn it or atone for sin. Christ became sin for us.
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
1 Cor 13:4-7 ESV
"So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17 WEB
"So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."
Luke 17:6 EMTV
"You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions."
James 4:2-3 ESV
"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
James 5:16 WEB
God is love. Therefore, God's love is entirely different from human love. Human love is conditional, while God's love is completely unconditional. You cannot earn God's love and you do not deserve it. He loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.
Faith is more than mere words. True faith is absolute trust. There is no worry, doubt or fear in faith. Faith is always accompanied by action. Faith is another gift from God. In ourselves, we do not possess the belief necessary to save us.
Prayer is our communion with God. It should not be a repetitive, ritualistic prayer. It should not always be about ourselves. God created man for His pleasure. He desires to speak with us. Christ offers a manner of prayer for us.
